Culture and History

Zimbabwe offers a unique and diverse culture for you to discover, friendly people and rich culture. Wherever you go, you will always be surrounded by warm and welcoming people who are smiling and willing to help. The main cultural groups in Zimbabwe are Shona and Ndebele. The Shona people were the founders of Great Zimbabwe, the ancient imperial capital of the region. About 85% of Zimbabweans identify themselves as Shona. The Ndebele are the next largest group, making up about 12 percent of the population. The Ndebele are a branch of the Zulu people that separated from the tribal group in the early 19th century.
