As Zimbabweans around the world took time off their busy schedules to celebrate the Independence of Zimbabwe on 18 April, the Embassy made the day memorable in Tehran by hosting various dignitaries and friends of Zimbabwe in Iran at Esteghlal Parsian Hotel. The event was graced by the Deputy Minister of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare of Iran, who applauded the Zimbabwean heroes and heroines who paid the ultimate price for their country's freedom from the york of colonialism. 

Ambassador B. Kupemba took time to inform his guests on the value Zimbabweans place on their freedom and their detemination to defend their country's sovereignity. He also informed the guests on the various achievements of the Zimbabwean people in various fields made possible by the freedom and independence the country enjoys today. As owners of their own destiny and resources, the Ambassador invited those present to take advantage of opportunites for trade and investment that are abound in Zimbabwe in various sectors.
