Compliments of the New Season

As the year 2025 begins, l would like to wish you a Happy New and Prosperous New Year. the year 2024 was a good year for enhancing bilateral relations between Zimbabwe and Iran, and l look forward to the sustained strengthening and deepening of bilateral cooperation between our two countries in all spheres of human endeavor. 

Our motto is that 2025 is the Year for Increased Activity and Delivery. The Embassy will strive to increase the tempo on bilateral interaction, trade and investment promotion, the visibility of activities between Zimbabwe and Iran, that promote stronger bilateral cooperation between our two countries. 

l therefore urge all Zimbabwean tourists and businesses to take advantage of the new visa regime offered by the Islamic Republic of Iran, which came into effect from February 2024, and explore opportunities for trade and investment, as well as tourism and cultural exchanges offered by Iran.

l also implore all Iranian businesses to take advantage and exploit the vast economic opportunities for trade and investment in Zimbabwe without hesistation. The Embassy is at your disposal to assist you in 2025.

The Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe in the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes you to our website. We would also like to extend our cordial greetings and best wishes to you as you explore our website. As you will notice, the website aims to provide information on investment, trade, tourism, consular services, current news and activities of the Embassy. 

We are delighted to inform you that the relations between Zimbabwe and the Islamic Republic of Iran, which date back to 1979, during our armed struggle, have grown from strength to strength since then.  This is evidenced by the exchange of high-level visits and fruitful political, economic, cultural, educational, health, and tourism cooperation. The recently held Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation between Zimbabwe and Iran, held on 7 February 2023, re-affirmed existing areas of cooperation as well as new frontiers that would pivot our bilateral cooperation going forward. Indeed, the implementation of these agreed programmes and projects is already under way. The future of our relations with Iran promises to be exciting as we work hard to broaden and deepen our bilateral relations. 

The Embassy continues to promote the development of these relations in all areas, particularly people-to-people connections through which all the other facets of our cooperation are centered on. Guided by the mantra "Zimbabwe is Open for Business" and the current emphasis on economic and transactional Diplomacy, the Embassy is working closely with both Zimbabwean and Iranian businesses targeted at strengthening of economic and trade relations. 

Our Embassy prioritizes the needs of our diaspora community in its activities under the theme "nyika inovakwa nevene vayo" (a country is developed by its own people). We stand ready to assist and collaborate with those wishing to build a prosperous Zimbabwe, as espoused by His Excellency, President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa's vision of achieving an “Empowered Upper Middle-Income Economy” by 2030.

Our doors are open to provide anyone wishing to do business with Zimbabwe, or to travel and explore our various tourist attractions, the necessary consular services to facilitate their visit. We welcome any ideas and suggestions that may help shape the Zimbabwe we desire in line with government policy and our relations with Iran.
